Summary

The debut work of the Austrian author Franz Orghandl deals with the story of Nina and her adventures in a mysterious forest. However, this forest is not an ordinary and normal forest, because you can only enter it through an old cupboard. There Nina meets Konstantin Meyer, with whom she immediately strikes up a friendship. Nina makes no secret of this special forest and its inhabitants. She even tells her parents about it, but they don’t believe her. Thus, a parent-child conflict occurs again and again and Nina’s experiences in this forest are attributed to her childlike imagination. When the cupboard is to be removed due to a water pipe break, Nina has to come up with something quickly to prevent this and the fact that the forest also begins to change by unknown forces and endangers the life behind the cupboard – and that of Konstantin Meyer. In order to save the cupboard and thus the forest, she needs the help of her friends Leanos and Luan and their father. But can she trust them? This book shows what really matters in life: friendship and solidarity.
